About Joseph Gary

Bio

From a young age, I was driven by a burning desire to become a small business owner. I spent my childhood experimenting with entrepreneurial ventures—selling apples from our backyard trees door to door, throwing newspapers, and mowing lawns. I always knew running businesses was what I was meant to do.

At 24, I decided to bring that vision to life and started Grime Time, Inc. I faced a pivotal choice: go to school to study business or dive in headfirst and learn along the way. I chose the latter and sought out guidance. That’s when I met Victor, a mentor who had been running a successful cleaning business for over 50 years, scaling it from Seattle to Texas. Victor, in his 70s at the time, generously took me under his wing and taught me the ropes.

When I arrived in Portland, Oregon, I had nothing but a backpack and a beat-up old car. Determined to build my dream, I devoted every waking hour to reading, experimenting, and hustling to grow my first real business. I immersed myself in learning every aspect of entrepreneurship—creating value, marketing, sales, operations, and financial management. I even studied psychology because understanding people—whether they’re customers, employees, or myself—is essential to running a business.

Starting with nothing, I built Grime Time, Inc. into a thriving operation. Today, we have a team of over 30 hardworking people, deliver cleaning services more than 7,200 times a year, and maintain over 1.3 million square feet of real estate. And this is only the beginning—we’re just scratching the surface of what’s possible.

I’m passionate about entrepreneurship and love sharing what I’ve learned to help others achieve their own success. Whether you’re interested in collaboration, hiring me for a project, or exploring speaking opportunities, I’d love to connect and share my journey with you.
